Emirates expects Boeing's long-delayed 777-9 wide-body jet to be delivered in the second quarter of 2027, years behind schedule.

Airline president Tim Clark warned the 777-9 risks being overtaken by newer technology before delivery, given its prolonged development timeline.

Mr Clark urged manufacturers to continue investing in new technologies rather than pausing development after bringing current programmes to market.

Engine maintenance delays and rising costs are increasingly affecting Emirates' operations, with 28 engines awaiting overhaul at any given time.
