Photon Queue has raised an oversubscribed $4 million seed round led by Playground Global to accelerate development and deployment of its room-temperature quantum memory technology for quantum computing and networking systems.

The company said its quantum memory devices store and synchronize single photons without requiring cryogenics, vacuum systems or quantum transduction, and are designed to work across multiple quantum computing platforms, including photonic, trapped-ion and neutral-atom systems.

Photon Queue said it has deployed its first commercial systems at Sandia National Laboratories and the University of Maryland, building on early customer traction following its 2024 spinout from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
