Saudi cabinet reaffirms support for Gulf allies, calls for halt to regional escalation
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Council of Ministers, chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Jeddah on Tuesday, reviewed regional developments and their impact on international security and peace.
The cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom’s support for Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan in response to what it described as Iranian aggressions violating international law and the principles of good neighborliness.
The council stressed the importance of an immediate halt to all forms of military escalation to preserve the stability and security of countries in the region and their peoples.
During the session, the council was also briefed on a phone call received by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman from Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, who expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s support for Lebanon and its efforts to promote regional stability and peace.
