Saudi foreign minister, GCC and Jordanian counterparts condemn Iranian aggression

RIYADH: Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held several calls with his counterparts from Gulf Cooperation Council states and Jordan to discuss critical developments in the Middle East.

Prince Faisal and the foreign ministers of Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and Jordan have all emphasized their condemnation of Iran’s repeated aggressions against the countries of the region. They opposed any actions that could threaten the sovereignty of regional states or compromise the security and stability of the Middle East, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, as well as Kuwait and the UAE, were targeted by Iranian missiles and drones as the conflict between Tehran and the US resumed last week.

Except for Jordan, all of these countries, including the Kingdom, border Iran along the Gulf and the Sea of Oman and are situated near Hormuz, a strait that has been mostly blocked for energy shipments since the US and Israel launched a military campaign against Iran on Feb. 28.
