Ukrainian farmers have already harvested nearly 5.5 million tonnes of new-crop grain and pulses.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine said this in a press release, Ukrinform reports.
"The harvesting campaign for early grain and pulse crops is underway in Ukraine. As of July 21, farmers in all regions have already harvested 1.34 million hectares, or 11% of the projected area, and threshed 5.47 million tonnes of new-crop grain," the statement said.
In particular, 2.6 million tonnes of wheat have been harvested from 633,200 hectares, with an average yield of 41.1 centners per hectare.
Farmers have threshed 2.56 million tonnes of barley from 580,500 hectares, with an average yield of 44.1 centners per hectare.
