The SACP has accused the ANC of deciding on the Government of National Unity before the 2024 election, saying negotiations with political parties were only for public consumption.
The South African Communist Party (SACP) claims the African National Congress had already decided to form a Government of National Unity (GNU) with the Democratic Alliance (DA) before the 2024 general election.
General Secretary Solly Mapaila says the post-election negotiations were not conducted in good faith because the decision had already been made before South Africans went to the polls.
The GNU was formed after the ANC lost its parliamentary majority for the first time since 1994 in the 2024 general election.
The ANC subsequently entered into agreements with the DA, Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), Patriotic Alliance (PA) and several smaller parties to form the coalition government.
