The US has completed a 10th straight night of strikes on Iran, widening the conflict after Washington resumed military operations earlier this month following the collapse of a June memorandum intended to end hostilities.
According to US Central Command, American forces struck military command centers, missile launch sites, drone facilities, maritime assets and air defense systems during a five-hour operation.
Iran retaliated by launching attacks on US military installations across Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, with the IRGC claiming to have hit radar systems, Patriot missile defenses and other military infrastructure.
Tehran also said it would keep the Strait of Hormuz closed while US attacks continue, warning that exports through the key shipping route would remain suspended. Iranian media additionally reported attacks on two vessels near the strait.
The escalating conflict has fueled political opposition in Washington, where Senate Democrats are seeking another vote to halt military operations.
