Angola is attracting another wave of Asian capital as Vietnamese conglomerate Xuan Thien Group prepares to expand into agriculture, mining, manufacturing and the green economy across six provinces.

The proposed projects by Xuan Thien Group, chaired by Vietnamese tycoon Nguyen Van Thien, will cover Uíge, Malanje, Cuando, Cubango, Cuanza Norte and Huambo, potentially creating jobs and income opportunities for about 50,000 Angolan families.

Angolan Foreign Minister Téte António recently discussed the investment plans with Van Thien during a meeting in Luanda, according to a government statement.

Specifically, the talks focused on sectors considered central to Angola’s efforts to reduce its reliance on oil, expand domestic production and attract investment into provincial economies.
