Covering 1.4 acres, it represents the UK's first and only dedicated PAW Patrol zone and has been specifically created to transport the colourful world of Adventure Bay into reality for toddlers and preschoolers aged between 2 and 5.‌The Paw Patrol attraction has taken over the former Mexicana section of the theme park (including the previous Scorpion Express location) and boasts four specially designed family rides. Among these is Chase's Mountain Mission - a beginner-friendly, "my first rollercoaster" experience where families climb aboard high-speed rescue vehicles alongside Chase and Everest to undertake a mountain rescue mission.‌‌There's also Zuma's Hovercraft Adventure, a distinctive spinning attraction set on Seal Island, which holds the distinction of being the UK's very first "Drifter" style ride, alongside Skye's Helicopter Heroes. This is a gentle airborne ride that allows children to soar in helicopters, providing an excellent vantage point across the entire attraction.Marshall's Firetruck Rescue is additionally an interactive experience where youngsters ride aboard a red fire engine to save the day throughout the streets of Adventure Bay.Meanwhile, Rubble and Rocky's Playzone is an extensive, hands-on climbing and adventure area themed around construction and recycling, perfect for burning off surplus energy.‌There's also a life-size recreation of the programme's famous headquarters, The Lookout Tower, which includes a slide and pup meet-and-greets. Visitors can also dine at Rescue Refreshments, a themed food and beverage outlet serving Adventure Bay-inspired treats, featuring a dedicated outdoor picnic space.‌Fans of the programme also get an opportunity to purchase merchandise at the PAW Patrol Gift Shop, a bespoke retail outlet stocked with exclusive toys, apparel, and rescue-ready keepsakes.Ever since the new Paw Patrol area launched back in May this year, my little one has been eager to visit.He finally got his opportunity recently when I had a day off work and we went along with a few of our friends.‌We opted to go on a weekday as we were hoping it would be quieter than a weekend. Because they're all not in school yet, we could also visit outside of the school holidays.However, I'm disappointed to say that our strategy didn't really succeed, as there were still massive queues.‌Despite it not being the summer holidays or a weekend, we still encountered queues of over an hour on some of the attractions.My little one adores Skye so he didn't want to leave without riding on her helicopter, however we faced a queue of more than an hour in the sweltering heat.This probably wasn't helped by the fact they had numerous empty seats in each carriage.‌For instance, if there was just a parent and child in the 4-seater helicopter, the staff weren't asking if there were any other pairs together who could hop in. After more than an hour of queuing, I eventually asked if we could share with a woman and her young daughter, as my patience had worn thin – thankfully, they agreed.The queue for the Zoomer ride proved equally frustrating. Despite an advertised 55-minute wait, it broke down midway through, pushing the actual time beyond an hour. Chase's rollercoaster remained out of action for most of the day as well.‌In truth, Marshall's Firetruck Rescue was the only main attraction in that section with a reasonable wait time during our visit – just 10 minutes to board.The slide at The Lookout Tower also moved fairly quickly for us, and Rubble and Rocky's Playzone wasn't overly packed either.It's disappointing because the new area looks fantastic and offers plenty for families, but the lengthy queues are problematic.
