Somizi Mhlongo has addressed the backlash surrounding his viral TikTok video inspired by media personality Nonhle Thema, insisting there was never any intention to ridicule her.
Somizi Mhlongo had a message for those who were not impressed with his latest TikTok: “Who appointed you?”
The entertainer responded after some followers said that they were disappointed by a video that many viewers believed was linked to Nonhle Thema’s recent interview on "947 Drive with Thando Thabethe".
In true Somgaga fashion, the response came through a follow-up video rather than a long explanation. He questioned why people felt the need to call him out and insisted there was no hidden meaning behind the clip.
“So, can’t we have fun anymore? I wasn’t mocking anything. It was a sound that I thought was nice and still think it’s nice!” he said.
