Good Morning Britain viewers saw Susanna Reid and Ed Balls detail the latest headlines on Tuesday morning.07:45, 21 Jul 2026Susanna Reid was quick to bring a conversation to an end during the latest edition of the popular breakfast show.‌During Tuesday's instalment of Good Morning Britain (July 21), presenters Ed Balls and Susanna informed ITV viewers of the recent pledges Andy Burnham made to the nation.‌It comes after he became the 59th Prime Minister and replaced Keir Starmer who resigned after being elected in 2024.‌The new Prime Minister announced there would be a VAT cut to household electricity bills, along with lowering bus fares and pledged to end long-term rough sleeping across the UK.He also named John Healey as Chancellor in his first Cabinet appointment. ITV's Ed asked if John Heely is going to be able to deliver the promises that Andy Burnham has made, as Kwasi Kwarteng aired his concerns.He shared: "There's no way they're going to be able to deliver all of the things that Andy Burnham has promised without increasing tax revenue."‌As Kevin Maguire chimed in, sharing that they could raise taxes in certain areas, although he shared his beliefs on why he was appointed as Chancellor.He commented: "There's a war between Shabana Mahmood, the Home Secretary and Ed Miliband, who was an Energy Secretary and is now a Foreign Secretary who wanted the job."‌Kwasi shared that if Andy Burnham had chosen Ed Miliband, half of the right party would've been upset, whereas if he chose Shabana Mahmood, the left would've been upset.Susanna cut in, adding: "Can I just point out, viewers, I don't think care about this. I just thought I'd bring the conversation to an end at that point.‌"I'm not sure, he said yesterday, didn't he, 'I want to end factionalism, and I want to end the briefing. Already, just a few minutes into our discussion, we're talking about factionalism and briefings."Surely, the viewers need to know what is he going to do for them?
