Alex Cooper has moved past “podcast host” and into a new realm as a media powerhouse. Cooper, 31, got her start as one half of the notoriously raunchy podcast Call Her Daddy and has since turned the show into a solo endeavor that is a must-stop for celebrities on publicity tours (and even presidential campaigns). Cooper has spun Call Her Daddy’s success into Unwell, an ever-expanding media and lifestyle brand that includes a podcast network, films and TV series, live events, and beverages. She’ll debut four new shows between 2026 and 2027 on YouTube, including a reality competition, a microdrama, and a docuseries about the Met Gala. She’s also taken on high-profile hosting gigs, including the 20th-anniversary Hannah Montana special on Disney+. Cooper’s rapid ascent has also brought increased scrutiny. In reports from Bloomberg and Vanity Fair this year, many former employees anonymously criticized the workplace culture at Unwell, the media company she runs with her husband, Matt Kaplan. Speaking during a live Wall Street Journal interview, Cooper rejected those claims, saying she believes they have done an “incredible job” with the company and characterizing the criticism as a gendered “smear campaign.” The backlash has done little to diminish Cooper’s reach. The podcast host, who has interviewed influential women from Hilary Duff and Gwyneth Paltrow to Michelle Obama, continues to book some of the biggest names in culture. In addition to her business, Cooper’s personal dynasty is growing too; this year, she is set to welcome her first child.Powered by Whalar Group
