Project ACT trains Kwara deaf community in first aid skills

Project ACT, an inclusive first aid initiative by NaijAidUK and Health Aid Charity, has trained persons with disabilities who are non-hearing and non-speaking in first aid in Ilorin, Kwara State.

A release from the organisation on Monday reaffirmed its commitment to making life-saving skills accessible to everyone, regardless of disability.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Project Lead of Project ACT, Patricia Adetuase, said the programme was designed to ensure that persons with hearing and speech impairments were not excluded from first aid education.

According to her, the initiative was inspired by the NaijAidUK Train-the-Trainer programme held in October 2024, where participants were challenged to develop community projects that would transfer first aid knowledge to underserved groups.
