Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha issued a stark warning about the rise of socialist and Marxist ideology in the United States, arguing the movement is gaining momentum and could fundamentally reshape the American government and the economy. “Socialism and Marxism is spreading like a malignant tumor,” Concha said on Fox Business’s Varney & Co. on Monday. “Now in the U.K., here in New York, the biggest city in the United States, all their NFL cities like Seattle, Washington, D.C, and it’s only going to metastasize like a cancer at an alarming rate.”
Concha argued that the movement is making inroads in major U.S. cities while contending that mainstream Democrats have become reluctant to confront the Democratic Socialists of America. “Established Democrats are petrified to take on this movement at this point,” he said.
Concha pointed to DSA’s beliefs of implementing government-run healthcare, establishing open borders, providing amnesty and citizenship for undocumented immigrants, and defunding police departments.
“They want to abolish the Senate. They want to abolish presidency. They want government-run healthcare for all. They want open borders, and they want amnesty and citizenship for all the illegals that are in this country. DSA’S NEW PLATFORM SEEKS TO ‘REPLACE’ PRESIDENCY AND SUPREME COURT, NIX ELECTORAL COLLEGEConcha argued that such policies would lead to “utter anarchy here in the U.S.,” drawing parallels to what he characterized as Britain’s increasingly leftward political direction. The DSA has increasingly influenced progressive politics in recent years, though many of its proposals remain outside the Democratic Party’s mainstream platform.
