A man who stands accused of fatally stabbing his wife in North York on Saturday afternoon was arrested days earlier for allegedly assaulting her.
According to court documents obtained by the Star, Martin Ly was arrested on July 14 on the charge that he assaulted his wife, Thi Nguyen, in December 2020. Ly was then released with conditions that meant he avoided going to jail ahead of his next court date.
