Operatives of the Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have apprehended a 32-year-old identified as Christian Chukwuka and his wife, Nwanneka Christian, 33, for alleged drug trafficking.
Mitchell Ofoyeju, the Edo State Commander of the agency, disclosed this to newsmen on Monday, July 20, 202,6 in Benin City.
Ofoyeju said the couple, le who hailed from Ndokwa in Delta St, were arrested during a raid at a residential building along Sapele Road, Benin City, used as an illicit warehouse by the suspects to deal in narcotic drugs.
According to him, NDLEA officers raided the illicit storage facility where they seized twenty-two bags of skunk cannabis weighing 219.5 kilograms and compressed blocks of Canadian Loud, a potent strain of synthetic cannabis weighing 192.67 kilograms.
The NDLEA Commander said that the discovery highlighted a growing concern regarding drug trafficking and illegal drug distribution in the state.
