The former operator dropped its lawsuit before winning the tender to run the attraction again.
After spending years on opposite sides of a courtroom, Bratislava Zoo and the former operator of DinoPark are becoming business partners again. The dinosaur-themed attraction will reopen in 2027 under a new lease agreement, six years after it closed amid a legal dispute.
The attraction first opened 18 years ago but closed in 2021 after the zoo terminated its contract with West Media ahead of schedule, arguing that the agreement was unfavourable for both the zoo and the Bratislava. A subsequent audit commissioned by the capital supported that assessment.
West Media challenged the decision in court, launching a legal battle worth several hundred thousand euros. The dispute ended this March when the company withdrew its lawsuit. Coincidentally, West Media also won the tender to lease the same site and will once again operate DinoPark, the daily SME reported. It was the only bidder.
According to the zoo, DinoPark had long been one of its most popular attractions, with visitors regularly asking when it would return. Management says the new contract is significantly more favourable for the zoo.
