ANDREA FRANCIS, the 14-year-old girl who died two days after receiving her Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) results, will be laid to rest on Wednesday.The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Revival And Restoration Ministries in Enterprise Street, Chaguanas. Following the service, the body will be interred at the Longdenville Public Cemetery.On July 4, Andrea was found unresponsive by her older sister at the family's home in Phyllis Lane Extension, Enterprise Street. The incident was first suspected to be death by suicide.An autopsy conducted by Dr Hubert Daisley on July 10 at the San Fernando General Hospital concluded that Andrea had been strangled and beaten to death. However, Andrea's father, Andy Francis, challenged the findings, saying that he did not harm his daughter and that no marks of violence were seen on her body when the police had visited his home on July 4.By request of the investigators, a second autopsy was conducted at the Forensic Science Centre in Federation Park on Thursday. Those results were classified as undetermined, owing to the body being in an advanced state of decomposition.The Express attempted to reach investigators to enquire about the status of the investigation, but received no response.In May, Andrea, a student of the Longdenville Government Primary School, sat the 2026 SEA examinations. Earlier this month, on July 2, she received the news that she had passed for her first choice, Cunupia Secondary School.Her father had told the Express on July 6 at his home that his daughter was looking forward to starting school in September. He added that his wife had passed away in Guyana in October 2025 due to medical complications.
