A week has passed, but concerns remain the same for the City’s enforcement agencies. Most of the arrests were for alcohol and drug-related crimes, as well as call-outs for domestic violence. File pictures: Matthew Jordaan
Law Enforcement officers performing a routine traffic stop in Delft late Sunday evening successfully intervened to rescue a crying infant from a hazardous situation.
Officers observed an intoxicated man walking past their position carrying the baby, who was visibly distressed and inadequately dressed for the cold weather conditions.
Upon further investigation, the officers noted that the child was without a blanket or appropriate warm clothing.
He identified himself as the infant’s father and was found to be in an advanced state of intoxication.
