Google has filed to develop two $500 million data center projects in Vernon, Wilbarger County, Texas.
Dubbed Project Rise 1A and Project Rise 2A, the data centers have been filed by Planton Investments LLC and Platon Investments LLC, respectively, both of which list 1600 Ampitheatre Parkway, California, as their address, which is the Googleplex campus.
Project Rise 1A is located at FM 2897 S in Vernon and saw work begin on March 31, 2026. According to the filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), 991,000 sq ft (92,065 sqm) of floor space will be developed, with construction work completed by the end of March 2028.
Project Rise 2A is listed for the same location, same size, and same construction timeline as its twin.
