Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie.
Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie has given parliament his receipts for his trip to the Fifa World Cup and challenged opposition parties to bring proof of any wrongdoing on his part.
This after the Democratic Alliance and ActionSA grilled him on the R31-million the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture of a 151-person delegation to the North American showpiece.
In a detailed statement, McKenzie said the amount had been openly disclosed in a parliamentary reply and insisted there was "nothing to hide".
He said the programme involved 151 participants travelling to Mexico and the United States, excluding service providers, with private sponsors covering part of the costs. A final reconciliation of sponsor contributions is still underway.
