The moderate heavy rain that has been lashing parts of north and central Kerala are likely to continue a couple more days influenced by an upper cyclonic circulation. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Kasaragod and Kannur on Tuesday, while it has upgraded the alert issued for these districts on Monday from yellow to orange, warning of intense heavy rainfall.According to a weather bulletin issued by the IMD on Monday, an upper air cyclonic circulation lies over the West Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal Andhra Pradesh. A trough runs from the upper air cyclonic circulation over West Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north coastal Andhra Pradesh to Northeast Arabian sea across south Odisha, south Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and south Gujarat region.
