What happened on the pitch
The confrontation erupted immediately after the final whistle on the pitch in what witnesses described as a brawl involving players and staff from both sides. Ayala, serving as part of Argentina’s coaching staff, was filmed throwing a punch at Olmo amid the chaos.
Olmo, to his credit, showed restraint. Spain’s head coach Luis de la Fuente reportedly stepped in to escort the midfielder away from the escalating situation before it got worse.
