Energy Recovery Technology to Help Deliver Water Security to One Million People Across Saudi Arabia's Mecca, Al-Baha, and Asir Regions

The flagship project advances Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 water security goals for some of the Kingdom's most strategically important regions.

Energy Recovery's installed base and contracted capacity across Saudi Arabia supports over 11 million cubic meters per day of fresh water production.

Energy Recovery (Nasdaq: ERII), a global leader in energy-efficient technology enabling affordable, reliable water and reduced emissions, today announced a contract to supply its PX® Pressure Exchanger® energy recovery devices to a new flagship seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant under Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 program. When complete, the plant will deliver affordable, drought-proof water to approximately one million people across the Kingdom's Mecca, Al-Baha, and Asir regions.

Saudi Arabia relies on desalination for more than 70 percent of its potable water supply and has no permanent rivers or lakes, making energy-efficient desalination capacity central to the Kingdom's water security. Mecca, one of the region's most strategically and culturally important cities, drew over 1.5 million pilgrims for Hajj earlier this year, underscoring the importance of a reliable, affordable water supply for the surrounding area.
