It took rescue workers several hours to release his body.‌In addition to the work to recover the body, paramedics had to assist the skipper who suffered an anxiety attack after the accident.‌The man and his friend, the skipper, had gone out for a day of fishing in the waters off the west coast of La Palma, in the municipality of Puntagorda, the Civil Guard said.The pair had regularly gone fishing together for decades in the area. The skipper, from Puntagorda, has been left traumatised after witnessing what happened.‌Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving a report that a man had suffered serious injuries from the propeller of a boat. It is understood that he fell into the water and was struck before becoming entangled in the blades.A helicopter was sent out as well as a rescue boat with police and paramedics, but nothing could be done to save the man. An investigation is now underway.The recreational boat involved in the accident was towed to the Port of Tazacorte.
