Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on Monday launched Bharatgas Lite ZIP, a premium free trade LPG offering, in Mumbai, with plans to expand to 100 cities across 24 states by August 15, 2026.The product, unveiled by Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Khanna, combines BPCL’s existing lightweight composite Bharatgas Lite cylinder with two new service features: instant new connections through a simplified onboarding process, and express delivery of LPG cylinders. The offering is positioned at working professionals, students, and mobile urban populations.Bharatgas Lite ZIP operates under the free trade LPG segment, meaning it is priced outside the regulated subsidy framework. The composite cylinder offers a transparent body that allows users to visually monitor gas levels, along with a corrosion-free build and lighter weight compared to conventional steel cylinders.Director of Marketing Subhankar Sen said the launch incorporates 100 per cent digital booking, OTP-based delivery authentication, and a quality assurance programme called Zero Ka Dum.BPCL shares traded at ₹312.25 on the NSE on Monday, down 1.05 per cent from the previous close of ₹315.55. The stock has fallen roughly 18 per cent year-to-date and sits closer to its 52-week low of ₹266.60 than its high of ₹391.65 recorded in February 2026.The Maharatna public sector undertaking operates over 6,250 LPG distributorships nationally and holds a combined refining capacity of 35.3 million metric tonnes per annum across its Mumbai, Kochi, and Bina refineries.Published on July 20, 2026
