Legislators and leaders from several political parties have reached New Delhi to participate in a protest on Monday demanding the restoration of full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.The protest has been organised by the ruling National Conference and will be led by party president Farooq Abdullah after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah cut short his Delhi visit and returned to Jammu to monitor the flood situation.Similar protests are being held at district headquarters across Jammu and Kashmir in support of the demand for restoration of statehood.A senior National Conference leader said legislators and party workers would assemble at 5, Prithviraj Road before proceeding to the protest site. However, the leader declined to disclose the venue, saying the details would be shared only with the participants.The party had initially planned to hold the protest at Jantar Mantar but was denied permission, prompting it to shift the venue.
