According to the group, priority should be given to the reconstruction of the Owena–Atosin–Alade–Odode Road, the Gbalegi–Technical College–Akure Road, and the completion of the Akure–Idanre Road dualisation project.
The Idanre Highlanders Club has called on Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to urgently address what it described as the deplorable state of road infrastructure and the lack of equitable distribution of government projects in Idanre Local Government Area, warning that the situation has continued to worsen for residents.
The group made the appeal in a reminder letter addressed to the governor, a copy of which was obtained by SaharaReporters on Sunday, lamenting that despite an earlier petition submitted on May 13, 2026, the state government had yet to respond to concerns over the economic, security, infrastructural and social challenges facing the council area.
Signed by the club's President, Mr. Abiodun Akindolire; Secretary, Temitope Oluseyi Akinfotire; and former President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Ralph Afolabi Akinfeleye, the letter said the people of Idanre were increasingly concerned about what they described as years of neglect.
The club specifically identified poor road infrastructure and unequal distribution of government projects as major issues affecting development in the local government, urging the governor to intervene before conditions deteriorate further.
