The police alleged that the victim was abducted, robbed and forced to pay a ransom before regaining his freedom.
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested four suspected kidnappers in separate operations across the state, foiling an attempted abduction, recovering a locally fabricated pistol, live ammunition and other incriminating items linked to alleged kidnapping and armed robbery activities.
The arrests were announced in a statement issued on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, as part of the command's weekly security review.
According to the statement, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Awkuzu, arrested a 32-year-old suspect, Okoye Ibegbunam Chukwuebuka John Bosco, popularly known as "Bone", on July 15 in connection with the investigation into the kidnapping of a victim in Okpanam, Asaba, Delta State.
