Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed that merit, competence and integrity remain the basis for appointments in his administration, saying professional ability rather than ethnic considerations determines leadership positions.

Sanwo-Olu stated this on Saturday at a reception organised by Urhobo and Isoko elites in Lagos in honour of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Samuel Egube.

The governor said Egube’s appointment and advancement in government were based on professionalism, sound judgment, and a proven capacity to deliver results.

“We don’t ask where excellence comes from. What matters is the ability to do the job well and serve the people faithfully,” Sanwo-Olu said.
