Residents of the Lata Nna Community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State have raised the alarm over what they described as an unrelenting campaign of terror by bandits, appealing to President Bola Tinubu to intervene before the community is wiped out.
In an open letter addressed to the President and obtained by The PUNCH on Saturday, the community accused the Federal Government of failing to halt repeated attacks which had claimed several lives, displaced residents, crippled farming activities and turned the only access road into what they described as a “death trap.”
The letter, signed by the Secretary of the Lata Nna Youth Association, Tauheed Desco, on behalf of the community, said residents had endured kidnappings, armed robberies, extortion and farm invasions for over two years, but recent attacks had pushed the community to the brink.
The letter read, “With a heavy heart and a deep sense of urgency, we write on behalf of the good people of Lata Nna community to cry out for help.
“We are under siege. Our lives, our livelihood and our very existence are being threatened daily by bandits. Only your intervention can save us.
