According to a community source, the two victims were attacked while returning to the village from a journey.
Suspected bandits on Friday invaded Lata Nna, a community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, shooting two residents and blocking the only motorable road leading into and out of the village, leaving the community under siege.
Residents told SaharaReporters that the attackers sealed off the community's only access road, effectively trapping villagers inside and preventing the evacuation of the wounded for urgent medical treatment.
According to a community source, the two victims were attacked while returning to the village from a journey.
"Two residents were shot while returning to the village. Because the road was completely blocked by the attackers, they could not be evacuated for medical attention. Their condition remains critical, and the denial of access to emergency medical care has further worsened the situation," the source said.
