American boxer Hannah Rapp has been killed in a collision with a car while she was cycling in Brazos, Texas.The 26-year-old rising boxing star had won eight and drawn one of her first nine professional bouts, capturing the North American Boxing Federation featherweight title.Last month she challenged Tiara Brown for the World Boxing Council (WBC) featherweight championship, losing by unanimous decision.Ms Brown paid tribute to Rapp online saying she was "the best dance partner I have ever faced as a pro".WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman also shared a statement in the wake of the tragedy, describing Rapp as "an exceptional boxer, but above all, an invaluable member of our boxing family"."We join in the grief that overwhelms her loved ones, her team, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and supporting her throughout her brilliant career," he said.Internet personality and founder of boxing and mixed martial arts promotion company Most Valuable Promotions, Jake Paul, called Rapp a "warrior" in a tribute posted on X."Gone too soon. Condolences to her entire clan," he said.The Brazos County sheriff's office said it had identified the driver of the vehicle as 31-year-old Charles Medina, who has been charged with manslaughter.Reuters/ABC
