You can listen here.Act and NZ First have dominated headlines over the past week, with the latter launching its campaign on the weekend by promising a $1 billion survey of offshore oil and gas reserves if reelected.Speaking at the launch, NZ First leader Winston Peters continued attacks on the India free trade deal, while criticising both Labour and National for “tinkering around the edges” with their focus on expanding solar.He claimed NZ First’s energy policies could give the country the path to controlling its own energy supply for domestic and export use.Last week also saw the surprise announcement that controversial broadcaster Paul Henry was running on the Act Party’s list, with commentators predicting a boost in the party’s polling as a result.Meanwhile National will campaign on modernising sexual consent laws in the next term - sparking criticism from Labour that the changes weren’t made earlier.Justice Minister Paul Goldsmith announced on Sunday National would reform consent clauses in the Crimes Act if reelected, ensuring “there must always be a ‘yes’, rather than the absence of a ‘no’,”.The law change would specify consent had to be “actively given” and communicated through words or actions.Labour has criticised National for choosing to campaign on the issue, claiming it walked away from bipartisan efforts to change the law this term.
