Former model Angie Best has announced her terrifying diagnosis in January this year. She's since shared her treatment journey with her social media followers15:44, 19 Jul 2026Angie Best has updated fans after undergoing gruelling treatment for Stage 3 colon cancer. The former wife of late footballer George Best revealed the incredible news that she is now cancer-free, having announced her diagnosis back in January.‌The 74-year-old model revealed that the cancer had spread to her liver, but underwent an intensive plan of treatment in order to remove the tumours.‌Angie, whose son is TV personality Calum Best, posted a video explaining how her cancer journey has gone, the final step in her treatment plan and revealing how she wants to "reinvent" herself now she's been given the rest of her life back.‌Speaking in an Instagram video, she explained the full process, captioning the clip: "Bit different from all the miserable videos of the last 7 months. I’m a truly happy grateful girl, it’s over."The star revealed that she was discharged from hospital after having keyhole surgery (laparoscopy) to remove the last part of the cancer.‌She said: "The chemo and the immunotherapy prior had shrunk my 30cm lump down to a little tiny bit that was attached to the colon. They shrunk it, now we go in and cut it out..."A bit like an interior designer coming in and moving the furniture around, but it still works. So then it's done, they sew you up, then they wait three days, and in those three days, they give you fluids only."So of course I lost so much weight, this is why I look so drawn, but I'm not worried about that because I've just been eating some shrimp tempura and I'm gonna gain that weight back again without no worries about that. On the fourth day, they give you your first meal, a very sensible meal, all white.‌"And then they wait for the next morning to see if you go to the bathroom. I did. And again the next day and again the next day, so everything was working as it should perfectly in my little colon."Angie, who has been splitting her time between the UK and the Swiss clinic where she had been undergoing mistletoe therapy, announced: "I'm so happy because now I can officially say with gratitude and love that I am cancer-free and healing. All I've got to do now is get better."I've got to heal and I can do that. That's what I'm good at. God knows it's the only thing I'm good at. But I can't come home yet because this was such a major operation. I have to wait eight days, and sit and wait, but I'm gonna use that time to heal and get better."Article continues belowThe former Big Brother star, who had been using homoeopathic remedies alongside the traditional medical treatment for cancer, beamed as she said: "I've got so much I want to do. I'm going to reinvent myself at the ripe old age of 74. Wish me luck!"Angie's reality star son Calum previously set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for his mum's specialist treatment.
