Anakapalli MP and Railway Standing Committee Chairman C.M. Ramesh flagged off the inaugural free spiritual train from Anakapalli to Ayodhya and Varanasi, from the Anakapalli railway station on Sunday.The initiative, supported by alliance leaders, facilitates a five-day pilgrimage for 1,500 devotees, covering travel, accommodation, meals, and medical support.Mr. Ramesh emphasised that the mission aims to ensure underprivileged families experience the spiritual sanctity of Ayodhya and Kashi.“We are providing travel, meals, accommodation, drinking water, and medical services free of cost. Dedicated in-charges and volunteers have been appointed for each coach. Special medical teams and necessary medicines are also ready in order to ensure the devotees face no inconvenience,” he said.Additionally, a special team of volunteers has been sent to Varanasi ahead to welcome the pilgrims and oversee the arrangements, he said. The itinerary includes a visit first to the Kashi Vishwanath Swamy, followed by a visit to the Ayodhya Sri Ram Janmabhoomi.Mr. Ramesh announced that the second special train will be operated in September and arrangements are underway for more special trains in the future, depending on the public response and requirements. “Safe travel of devotees is our top priority,” he said.Beyond this service, the MP highlighted Anakapalli’s rapid transformation, and said that the region has attracted over ₹5 lakh crore industrial investments—a record unmatched by any other parliamentary constituency in the country.He asserted his resolve to mould Anakapalli into a model constituency through robust infrastructure, including improved railway and road connectivity.
