Malaysia’s Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM) will translate and publish 14 Arabic books by Madin Academy chairman and Kerala Muslim Jamaat general secretary Syed Ibrahim Khaleel Bukhari in Malay language.The initiative was launched on Saturday (July 18, 2026) with the release of the Malay translation of Jawlah Dirasiyyah Hawlal Islam fi al-Diyar al-Malabariyyah (Islamic Movements in Malabar), unveiled by Malaysia’s Minister for Religious Affairs Zulkifli Hasan at a function held at Selangor Islamic University, Malaysia.Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hasan said that Mr. Bukhari’s writings promoted the Islamic values of moderation, knowledge, patriotism, and humanitarianism. He added the translated work would help Malaysian readers gain a better understanding of Kerala’s Islamic heritage and the contributions of its scholars.He added that JAKIM would facilitate the translation and publication of Mr. Bukhari’s remaining Arabic works.Among those present were Selangor Islamic University Vice-Chancellor Muhammad Farid Rawi Abdullah, YADIM vice-president Hadi Anwar bin Azmin, Mustafa Abu Sulaiman, and Basheer Mohammed Al-Azhari.
