The current people surveys clearly place the BJP in the lead, and this has been causing panic within the Congress and BRS ranks, claimed Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Sunday. He also questioned why Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy keeps talking about ‘non-cooperation’ from the Centre when it was he and his party which had made grandiose promises and guarantees to the people before the elections during a meeting with the party’s city executive committee.“Why taunt our Union Minister of Coal & Mines G. Kishan Reddy, when Mr. Revanth Reddy’s government is unable to fulfil the promises made? This is a government for real estate using Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), and not for the city’s development. Drinking water crisis is looming large in the twin cities with the dubious tankers supply,” he charged, addressing partymen.Mr. Rao alleged that the Congress government and the previous BRS government have prioritised respective families rule, helping close associates and rampant corruption, leaving people’s problems on the wayside. “Strangely, both parties are accusing each other of corruption and other misdeeds when the present government is exactly committing the same mistakes as the KCR regime,” he claimed. Also, both BRS and Congress have ganged up with the Majlis Party to defeat the BJP. The trifurcation of GHMC is also part of the same exercise, he left and urged the city leaders to understand the issues plaguing people to take on the government. The organisational strength should result in political victories, he added. In a separate press conference, legislature party leader A. Maheshwar Reddy also lashed out at the Congress and BRS for ‘completely ignoring the people’s aspirations — regarding water, funds and appointments’ but ‘hankering for power and safeguarding its ill-gotten wealth’.Both parties have pushed Telangana into deep debt running into lakhs of crores — ₹8.2 lakh crore earlier and ₹4 lakh crore in just about 30 months. Yet PRC and PF arrears remain unpaid to employees. It is ‘laughable’ that BRS is talking about unemployment after betraying the unemployed for 10 years while the Congress government has deceived the youth, he said, questioning about the two lakh jobs promise.
