Russia launched one of its largest ballistic missile attacks on Kyiv since the start of its full-scale invasion, killing at least one person and injuring 16 others as missiles and drones struck the Ukrainian capital and other regions overnight.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia fired 41 missiles of different types and 125 drones during the overnight assault, with Kyiv as the main target. Ukraine's Air Force said it intercepted 18 missiles and shot down or suppressed 108 drones.
The attack lasted several hours and caused damage across multiple districts of the capital. Residential buildings, warehouses, office premises, a supermarket and a student dormitory were among the sites hit, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
