EFF leader Julius Malema and Ngizwi Mchunu will face each other in court over defamation claims.
While social commentator Ngizwe Mchunu has, meanwhile, issued an apology to EFF leader Julius Malema for making defamatory statements against Malema, the battle is far from over, with the court now due to hear oral evidence relating to the ongoing saga.
In the latest round before the Gauteng High Court, Pretoria, Malema now wants Mchunu to be given a six-month direct imprisonment punishment for contempt of court.
Between May 12 and June 18, Malema had to approach the urgent court on four different occasions to prevent Mchunu from defaming him and to desist from uttering defamatory remarks against Malema.
Ngizwe Mchunu has, meanwhile, issued an unreserved public apology to the court and Malema after being found guilty of contempt of court for violating previous court orders that barred him from repeating certain allegations and insults directed at the opposition politician.
