The Katsina State Police Command has reportedly arrested a suspected drug trafficker accused of supplying illicit substances to armed bandit groups operating in the Funtua Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect, identified as Sunday Eze, popularly known as "Dunbuje," was arrested during an intelligence-led operation carried out on July 15.
The police said operatives recovered 500 tablets of a substance identified as D5 from the suspect during the operation.
According to the command, preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect allegedly supplied illicit drugs to criminal groups operating in and around the Funtua Zone, an area that has witnessed repeated attacks by armed bandits in recent years.
