The Kano State Police Command has arrested a suspected bandit and recovered an AK-47 magazine loaded with ammunition, 79 additional rounds of live ammunition and other suspected military items in Bichi Local Government Area of the state.
The command disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa.
According to the statement, the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Mohammed Isah Haruna of Dala Local Government Area, was arrested on Saturday following credible intelligence from residents of Rimaye Village.
The police said operatives of the Bichi Division swiftly moved to the area after receiving reports of a man wearing a suspected military uniform.
