The warning comes amid growing concerns over the country's flood outlook, with both the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) and the Federal Ministry of Environment recently identifying dozens of states and hundreds of communities at risk of flooding during the peak of the rainy season.
In a statement issued on Saturday, through the agency's Press Unit, Umar urged vulnerable communities to activate flood preparedness measures without delay and comply with official advisories issued by government agencies.
