Three siblings accompanying the remains of their mother from Abuja to Benue State for burial were reportedly abducted by gunmen on Saturday.
Sunday PUNCH gathered that the incident occurred between Omutele and Ankpechi in Oglewu District at about 4am.
The gunmen, according to sources, intercepted the victims’ vehicle along the Ogobia–Otukpo Road in Ohimini Local Government Area of the state.
The abduction is the second reported attack on mourners conveying a corpse for burial within one week, heightening concerns over worsening insecurity on roads linking Benue and neighbouring states.
