Cobus Wiese of The Springboks during the 2026 Nations Championship match against Wales in Durban on Saturday.

Stand-in Springbok captain Pieter-Steph du Toit described seeing brothers Cobus and Jasper Wiese start together for South Africa for the first time as a special moment after the world champions' 43-0 Nations Championship victory over Wales at Kings Park on Saturday.

The sibling combination made an immediate impact, with Cobus producing a powerful midfield carry before offloading for Jasper to crash over for the opening try inside five minutes.

Having also shared the field with his own brother Johan earlier in his career, Du Toit said he understood just how much the occasion meant.

"I think it's an unbelievable privilege because I also played with my brother in the past," Du Toit said. "For brothers to both play for the Springboks is a huge honour. Their parents must be extremely proud of them, and they're proud of each other.
