Mshel Homes Limited has formally commissioned its flagship Mshel Hutu Exclusive Golf Resort Estate in Abuja, unveiling world class recreational and lifestyle facilities the company says will set a new benchmark for integrated luxury community living in Nigeria.
The Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mshel Homes, Arc. Barka Umaru Mshelia disclosed this at the commissioning ceremony, describing the estate as the product of a long held vision to combine quality housing with world class infrastructure under a “live, play and relax” concept. Facilities include a nine hole golf course, a sports complex with ten areas, an Olympic sized swimming pool, a 2.7-kilometre road network, a seven-bedroom maisonette, a clubhouse, an estate fountain, and courts for various sports.
Mshelia said more than ten blocks of apartment buildings are already standing within the estate and under construction for subscribers, a development he linked to rising demand for the project. “Our idea for Mshel Hutu Exclusive is to create a community where people enjoy their best lives,” he said.Land acquisition was “daunting” Mshelia.
Recounting the project’s early days, the Mshel Homes boss said acquiring the expansive land was the most difficult phase, citing demolition exercises by the Area Council, financial constraints, and other obstacles. Upon visiting the site, his partner highlighted its enormous potential and proposed a collaboration, though he initially hesitated due to the land’s size and price, which was only 10 per cent of its value at the time.
