NewsUK NewsMurderThe family of a man found dead inside a caravan parked in a Loughborough layby have paid tribute to him after police launched a murder investigation08:38, 18 Jul 2026Updated 08:50, 18 Jul 2026A "beloved family man" has been found dead inside a caravan parked in a layby in Loughborough as police launched a murder investigation.Ashley Menzel was discovered in the caravan on the A6 Derby Road on Monday, July 6.Two men, aged 56 and 42, were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain on bail while detectives continue their enquiries.Police believe the 42-year-old had been involved in an altercation in the days before his body was discovered.His family have now paid tribute to Ashley, describing him as a "beloved member of the family" who will be "deeply missed."They said: “Ashley was a beloved son, brother, boyfriend, uncle and nephew.“He as a beloved member of the family who will be deeply missed by all of us.
