Kerry Katona has shared an update on family life as her youngest daughter, DJ, begins the summer holidays after changing schools. She revealed her daughter has swapped private education for a state school after her previous school closed down, with the shorter summer break coming as a surprise."DJ’s off school for the summer. She’s absolutely gutted because her private school shut down, so I’ve put her into a state school. Before, she’d get about 12 weeks off so now she’s in shock that she only gets half that," Kerry explained.The mum-of-five admitted she's looking forward to having her children at home over the summer, while also taking aim at the amount of homework schools set."I love it when the holidays come round. School is all hands up to ask a question, hands up to go to the toilet, then they send my child home with homework after they’ve had them in class for six hours a day. I think it’s rubbish!"‌Kerry shares two children with Westlife star Brian McFadden - Molly, 24, and Lilly-Sue, 23, then shares Heidi, 19, and Max, 18 with former partner Mark Croft. And lastly, she shares youngest daughter Dylan-Jorge, 12, with her late husband George Kay.The former Atomic Kitten star, 45, also said she was proud to be considered a "gay icon" after taking to the stage at the annual celebration, admitting the soaring temperatures almost got the better of her during her performance.‌Sharing her experience in her latest column for New!, Kerry said: "I recently got the chance to perform at Bournemouth Pride and it was so hot! I didn’t think I was going to make it through the setlist. But what a crowd! It’s so good being on stage and seeing everyone."The TV personality went on to explain why Pride events mean so much to her, saying: "I love these events and I am proud to be a gay icon. My mum was with a woman back in the 80s. I didn’t know any different. Love is love."Kerry continued: "It doesn’t matter who you are – everyone has got a story and everyone has got a trauma, whether you’re gay, straight, bisexual or trans, it doesn’t matter. What’s important to me is that we all just have a big party and find that escapism with events like Pride."‌The reality star has long been vocal about embracing inclusivity and has regularly supported LGBTQ+ events throughout her career.Like this story?
