The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the National Assembly to determine whether President Bola Tinubu remains fit to discharge the duties of his office, alleging that his administration has lost control over key presidential powers, particularly the appointment and removal of public officials.
In a statement issued on Friday, the opposition party cited what it described as a growing pattern of administrative confusion within the Presidency, arguing that recent controversies surrounding appointments and dismissals suggest that forces outside the President's authority are exercising control over government decisions.
The statement, titled "Appointments Fiasco: Tinubu Has Lost Control – National Assembly Must Establish Whether the President Is Still Fit to Discharge the Duties of His Office," was released amid the controversy surrounding the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).
