The Anambra State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a teacher accused of flogging a 12-year-old pupil to death at a school in Adazi-Ani, Anaocha Local Government Area of the state.
The police said the search is being coordinated under the Command's Safe School Initiative Operations, led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Harrison Oruruo.
The Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement issued on Friday, said officers attached to the Neni Divisional Police Headquarters responded after receiving a report of the incident on the evening of Thursday, July 16.
